2014 Indoor Season
Continued from Home Page Story
The heptathlon competition started out with a bang. The first 3 events saw one new indoor PR in the shot put and two very good marks in the 60m and the long jump.
High jump was next and is typically one of Gunnar's best events, but not this day. He turned in a less than desirable mark at 2.02m,, well under his indoor PR of 2.15m. It was decision time, continue the heptathlon competition the next day or conserve energy and compete in a heptathlon the following weekend in Birmingham, AL. He chose the latter, although he did compete in the open 60m hurdles on day 2 and win the event with a solid time of 8.09. |
